It all adds up

Someone said to me the other day, “I used to think I was going to change the world and now it seems impossible.” We’d been talking about our dreams, who we’d hoped to be when we were small and how bold we were to think we could change things. We were also talking about how harsh and hard the world feels now, and how trying to truly make things better can feel like an insurmountable task. And then it dawned on me.

We change the world every single day. Our world.

When we chat to a stranger and share a laugh, when we’re championing and celebrating the ones we love, when we’re holding a door open for someone, commenting on the weather or connecting over a challenge, it’s these micro moments that add up. Those small connections change a person’s 5 minutes, which can change their morning, which can change their day...and yours. It’s tiny gestures of love, kindness, openness, willingness to let the world in that make the difference, and when you look around it all adds up to something quite beautiful!

The world is feeling really heavy and scary right now, but you have the power to change it a little at a time, just by being you, and you do it everyday!

Don’t forget that!

Love, Amy x
